Creating a New Assembly
Create an assembly from the Assemblies tab or the Assembly Builder. Attach an image or symbol, name the assembly, choose a category, and save it. You can copy a parts list from an existing assembly or start blank, then add components in the Assembly Builder.
What you'll learn
- Open the new assembly screen from the Assemblies tab or from the Assembly Builder
- Attach an image by cropping from a sheet, reusing an assembly image, or uploading a symbol
- Name the assembly and assign its category
- Copy the parts list from a similar assembly
- Save the new assembly
- Add components to a blank or copied assembly
If you plan to copy a parts list, find a similar assembly that already has the components you want. The video uses a duplex receptacle assembly.
