01_Logging In and Navigating Your AECinspire Dashboard (4:15)
Overview
This video walks a new user from the welcome email through their first login and gives a full tour of the AECinspire dashboard. By the end you will know how to log in, find and organize your projects, adjust your profile and password, reach support, and — if you are a Company Admin — add and manage the users at your company.
What you'll learn
- Where to find your login credentials and which URL to bookmark
- The difference between a Company Admin and a Standard User
- How to search, sort, and organize projects on your dashboard
- How to move a finished project to cold storage
- Where to update your profile, reset your password, and check notifications
- How to add, edit, and export users (Company Admin only)
Before You Begin
AECinspire sends your login information by email as soon as your account is created. That email routinely lands in spam or junk, so check those folders before requesting a resend. The email contains a temporary password you will use for your first login.
Part 1 — Log In for the First Time
- Open your welcome email from AECinspire and locate your username and temporary password. If it is not in your inbox, check your spam and junk folders.
- Navigate to app.aecinspire.net. This URL goes straight to the login screen and skips the marketing home page.
- Bookmark app.aecinspire.net. This is the fastest route back into the platform on every future visit.
- Enter your username and temporary password, then click Log In.
- From the dashboard, locate the search bar directly above your project list.
- Begin typing a project name. Dynamic search filters as you type and floats the matching project to the top of the list.
- Note the default sort: Last Updated is applied automatically, so the most recently worked-on project in your portfolio always appears first.
- In the left-hand navigation, click Manage Projects to open the list view of all your projects.
- Click Edit on any project row.
- Locate the Active / Inactive toggle.
- Set a completed project to Inactive. This removes it from your dashboard and moves it into cold storage.
- To view archived work, collapse the dashboard sections. Projects are grouped into Active Projects and Inactive Projects.
- Click your profile icon in the upper right corner of any screen.
- Update your name and contact information as needed.
- Use Reset Password to set a new password.
- Click Manage Users in the left navigation.
- Add a new user, or select an existing user to edit.
- Set the user level to Company Admin or Standard User, or deactivate the user to remove their access.
- To pull a full roster of everyone with AECinspire access, click Export in the upper right corner of the user table. The export downloads directly from Inspire.
Note: The temporary password is single-use for onboarding purposes. Set a permanent password from your profile after your first login (see Part 5).
Part 2 — Understand the Two User Levels
AECinspire has two user levels. Your level determines which projects appear on your dashboard and which navigation tabs you can see.
|
User level |
Projects visible on dashboard |
Access to Manage Users tab |
|
Company Admin |
All projects across the entire company |
Yes |
|
Standard User |
Only projects the user created, plus projects they have been invited to |
No |
If you are joining an existing company as a Company Admin, expect a fully populated dashboard on first login. New users and Standard Users typically see either no projects or a single sample project.
Part 3 — Find Projects on Your Dashboard
Part 4 — Manage and Archive Projects
The dashboard is the control center for your entire portfolio — open a project, edit it, or change its status without leaving the list view.
Best practice: Set a project to Inactive as soon as the work is complete. Cold storage keeps the record intact and retrievable while keeping your active dashboard free of clutter.
Part 5 — Update Your Profile and Password
If you are locked out: When you see "Password not recognized" or "Account not recognized" — or you are simply returning after time away — click Forgot Password on the login screen. The system emails a new temporary password and you can log in and reset from there.
Part 6 — Notifications, Knowledge Base, and Support
The upper right corner of the platform holds three items worth knowing on day one.
|
Item |

Notifications |
Upper right corner |

|
Knowledge Base |

Part 7 — Manage Users (Company Admin Only)
Company Admins have an additional Manage Users tab in the left-hand navigation.
