Step 1: Prepare Your Layout
- Layout Preparation: Ensure all devices, junction boxes, and panels are correctly placed on your project layout. This setup is crucial for an efficient connection process.
Step 2: Access the Connections Tab
- Open Connections Tab: Navigate to the connections tab in INSPIRE.
- Select Conduit Approach: Choose the appropriate conduit approach for your project, such as least conduit for typical connections or spider for individual raceways.
Step 3: Configure Connection Settings
- Choose Connection Run Type: Select from branch, home run, or feeder to define the purpose of each connection.
- Set Connection ID and Type: Assign a unique ID if necessary and choose the type of raceway required, like MC cable or EMT.
Step 4: Start Making Connections
- Initiate Connection: Click the start button and begin connecting from the power source to the target devices.
- Sequence Connections: Connect devices in order, from junction boxes to end points, ensuring the flow of power is correctly directed.
Step 5: Finalize and Review Connections
- Lock Routes: Confirm and lock each route by pressing the enter key, securing the connections made.
- Review and Adjust: Check the direction of connections and make any necessary adjustments. Use the tool to show directions for a visual confirmation of the flow.
Step 6: Save and Continue
- Save Connections: Once all connections are satisfactory, save the setup to preserve your work.
- Proceed with Further Connections: Continue making additional connections as needed without returning to the save button, streamlining the process.
Additional Tips:
- Efficiency: Use the spider approach for complex setups that require multiple separate connections from a single source to various devices.
- Verification: Regularly verify the connection paths and types to ensure they meet the project specifications and electrical standards.
