How to Use Scopeboxes (2:21)

 

Step 1: Access the Scope Boxing Tool

  1. Open AECInspire.
  2. Navigate to the Scope Boxing tool from the dashboard or tools menu.

Step 2: Create a New Scope Box

  1. Click on the 'New Scope Box' button.
  2. Enter a unique name for the scope box to avoid duplication and ensure easy identification.
  3. Confirm the name by clicking the check button, which will turn green to indicate uniqueness.

Step 3: Configure Scope Box Properties

  1. Choose a color for the scope box, enhancing visual differentiation on project sheets.
  2. Decide whether the scope box applies general rules or specific workflows, enhancing the customization for project needs.

Step 4: Drawing the Scope Box

  1. Select the drawing tool: Rectangle for simple shapes or Polygon for complex perimeters.
  2. For polygons, click to define each corner of the desired area. For rectangles, click and drag to define the area.
  3. Press 'Enter' to complete the drawing.

Step 5: Finalizing and Utilizing the Scope Box

  1. After drawing, click 'Save' to finalize the scope box.
  2. The scope box automatically tags assemblies and counters within its perimeter, reflecting in the properties section.
  3. Review and adjust properties if necessary, ensuring all elements are correctly categorized.

Step 6: Integrating with Project Management

  1. The scope box details automatically integrate with the project’s bill of materials and other documentation, streamlining data management.
  2. Utilize the scope box information to track project progress and coordinate tasks within specific project areas effectively.
