v2.24 Release
Productivity · Smart Count Intelligence · Collaboration & UX Enhancements
AECInspire v2.24.1.0 is focused on making the platform faster, smarter, and easier to use — especially on large-scale projects. This article covers every new feature, UX improvement, and bug fix included in this release. Before diving in: press Ctrl + Shift + R to refresh the application and confirm you're on the latest version, especially if AECInspire has been open for an extended period.
1. Inspired Query (IQ) Upgrades
This release delivers two meaningful upgrades to IQ that directly improve the quality and traceability of AI-generated responses on your projects.
1.1 Deep Analysis Mode
A new Deep Analysis button is now available at the bottom of every IQ chat — both when starting a new conversation and within an existing one. Enabling it adds a deeper reasoning layer to complex, multi-step prompts where you're gathering large amounts of project information. It's built for those larger prompts where you need IQ to reason through relationships across multiple sheets or documents rather than return a simple lookup.
Keep in mind: Deep Analysis takes longer to return results than a standard query. Use it when accuracy and thoroughness matter more than speed — for example, during detailed estimation or cross-sheet design reviews.
When to use Deep Analysis:
Multi-step prompts spanning several project documents or sheets
Large information-gathering queries during estimation or design review
Any prompt where you need IQ to reason through data relationships rather than return a quick result
1.2 Source Highlight with Canvas Navigation
IQ responses now include embedded source links alongside your results. Clicking a source link automatically opens the correct sheet, zooms to the exact location, and highlights the relevant area so you can visually confirm the reference. This significantly improves the review stage — you can now verify that IQ is pulling from the right location on your drawings without manually hunting through sheets.
Important limitation: Source highlighting applies to new queries on newly uploaded files only. Existing project files and prior prompt history will not display source highlights retroactively.
2. Smart Count — Symbol Alignment & Angle Intelligence
Version 2.24 includes two related upgrades to Smart Count that improve placement accuracy and reduce the manual rotation work that typically follows a count run.
2.1 Auto Angle Detection (Symbol Alignment)
Smart Count now automatically detects the angle of identified symbols and devices on your sheets. When assemblies are placed during a count, they are oriented to match the symbol on the drawing — rather than defaulting to a standard rotation you have to correct afterward. This is a workflow improvement that compounds quickly on large jobs. Every rotation you don't have to make is a click saved, and your drawings come out cleaner from the start.
What this means in practice:
Assemblies placed by Smart Count are already aligned with your drawing symbols
Less time spent manually rotating devices after a count runs
Cleaner, more accurate drawings from placement through to BOM output
2.2 Angle Editor in the Review Screen
A new Angle Editor is available in the Smart Count Review Screen, giving you precise control over any angles that need adjustment after detection runs. It includes drag-based angle correction with real-time preview, snap alignment for cleaner placement, and persistent storage of edited angles so your corrections carry through the workflow.
2.3 Real-Time Angle Display for Linear Drawing
When drawing linear assemblies or linear dimensions, the current angle value now appears near your cursor in real time. The display updates dynamically as you move, follows your project's units and scale, and helps you hit clean bends and precise custom angles without manual calculation.
3. Connection Editing Enhancements
Three meaningful updates ship in this release that improve how you edit, move, and visually manage connections on the canvas.
3.1 Snap Connections + Real-Time Angle Measurement
Connection editing now includes grid-based snapping — connections snap to horizontal, vertical, and angled alignments as you draw — and real-time angle measurement between segments that updates live as you route. The helper lines that assist assembly placement now also serve as angle guides, so your conduit routing reflects real-world bend accuracy from the start. Crisp, clean 90s and accurate custom angles are built right into the editing experience.
3.2 Multi-Connection Bulk Move
You can now select multiple connections at once and reposition them in a single action. Relative spacing and routing are preserved when you move the group, making it much faster to reorganize large electrical layouts without breaking your connection structure. Works across complex connection networks on large sheets.
3.3 Connection Tag Leader Support
Connection tags now include a leader arrow with customizable visibility and style. A circle indicator shows exactly which conduit each tag is connected to — a significant improvement when you have a dense stack of tags in one area of the drawing. Leader lines snap to the nearest connection point and adjust dynamically when tags are moved, keeping the visual link between tag and conduit accurate without manual cleanup.
4. Export Enhancements
4.1 CSV Export Support
All table exports in AECInspire now include a CSV format option alongside the existing Excel (XLSX) export. This applies to BOMs, Manage Data tables, Raw Data exports, Supplier exports, and Package exports. CSV is the preferred format for importing data into external applications like Revit, AutoCAD, and other estimating platforms. This removes the manual conversion step and makes it straightforward to combine your AECInspire BOM data with outside sources.
4.2 Admin User Data Export
Admins can now download a full user record export directly from the Users tab in the Admin Panel. The export includes role, email address, and access level for every user in the account — simplifying audits, access reviews, and compliance reporting.
5. UX & Platform Improvements
Multi-PDF Upload – Upload multiple drawing files or documents in a single cycle. Review and adjust your file list before confirming — no more uploading one sheet at a time on large jobs.
Hover Object Highlight – Objects on the viewer now display a blue highlight box on hover, making it easier to identify and confidently select the right device or tag in dense areas of the drawing.
Current Sheet Auto Scroll – The File Management panel and Left File Menu automatically scroll to and highlight the active sheet, so you always know where you are in large project file structures.
Dashboard Default Sorting – The dashboard now defaults to Last Updated Projects on startup, page refresh, new project creation, and after deletions — faster access to your most active work every session.
Scopebox UX – The default tab now shows existing scopeboxes, and "New" has been renamed to "Create New" — clearer language that matches what the action actually does.
Dashboard Action Visibility – Edit and Delete actions are now visible directly on project cards, removing the extra steps previously needed to surface those options.
Admin Terminology Updates – "Projects" is now "Manage Projects" and "Users" is now "Manage Users" in the Admin panel — clearer labels that better reflect each section's function for all user roles.
Auto-Invite to Sample Project – All new users (Admins, Standard, Viewers) are automatically added to the Sample Project when they join a company. No manual admin action required — new team members can start exploring immediately.
Button Hover Effects – All buttons now have consistent hover states, making clickable elements immediately obvious and improving overall interface consistency.
