v2.25.1 Release
New Features
1. AI-Powered Scope Box Generation
Creating Scope Boxes is now faster and more intelligent with automatic room detection.
Users can now choose between creating Scope Boxes manually or allowing AECInspire to automatically detect enclosed rooms on a sheet and generate Scope Boxes for review. The tool analyzes the floor plan, identifies wall geometry, detects enclosed rooms, and extracts room names where they are found on the sheet.
Before saving, users can rename, recolor, review, zoom to, or remove any generated Scope Box. Rooms can be removed by double-clicking the Scope Box on the screen or by unchecking the item in the review list, giving full control over what is ultimately created.
Once saved, automatically generated Scope Boxes behave exactly like manually created Scope Boxes and integrate seamlessly with existing workflows including Manage Data, BOMs, exports, annotation tags, legend tables, and reports.
How to use it
Open the Scope Box tab and select Generate Scope Box Automatically. AECInspire scans the active sheet and returns a set of proposed Scope Boxes with detected room names applied. Review each proposed Scope Box, editing names, colors, or boundaries as needed, and remove any that are not required. When the set is correct, select Create Selected Scope Boxes to save them to the sheet.
Value to Users
- Significantly reduces manual Scope Box creation
- Saves time on large floor plans
- Improves consistency across projects
- Fully compatible with existing Scope Box workflows
- Supports a path from detailed floor plan to a fully kitted installation package in under 10 minutes
2. IQ Skills
IQ Skills are pre-built tasks that Inspired Query executes against your project documents, replacing multi-step manual data entry with a single guided run.
A new IQ Skills button appears in the IQ tab alongside Inspired Prompts. Skills are visually distinguished by a blue background. Each skill runs against the documents already uploaded to the project, returns results for your review, and — where applicable — writes the verified results directly back into the project.
Available skills in this release
| Skill | What it does | Output |
|---|---|---|
| Automatic Panel Detection | Reads all project documents and identifies every electrical panel in the project | Reviewable list with panel name and voltage, saved directly to Project Settings |
| Electrical Panel Quotation Extraction Template | Identifies electrical panels and the associated manufacturers called out in the documents, referencing the specifications where available | Structured quotation-ready extract |
| Panel Schedule Table Builder | Reads an open panel schedule and structures each panel into a table | Exportable table, pushed to Excel directly from AECInspire |
| Electrical Panel Schedule Analysis and Circuit Breaker Extraction | Analyzes panel schedules and performs a breaker count | Distinct counts by breaker style, size, and type |
Recommended workflow for Automatic Panel Detection
Automatic Panel Detection is intended as one of the first steps in a new project. Create the project and upload your documents, then open the IQ tab, select IQ Skills, and run the panel detection skill. Review the returned list to verify each panel name and voltage, then select Save Panels to write them into Project Settings. Every detected panel is then available for assignment during detailing, eliminating the need to create panels individually.
Value to Users
- Eliminates one-by-one manual panel creation in Project Settings
- Digitizes 2D panel schedules into structured, exportable data
- Delivers distinct breaker counts without manual takeoff
- Keeps a verification step in the loop before any data is written to the project
- Establishes a repeatable project setup sequence: create project, upload documents, run panel extraction, detail
Additional IQ Skills are in development and will be released on an ongoing basis.
3. Expanded Inspired Query Knowledge with Panel Extraction
Inspired Query has been enhanced to retrieve information directly from Project Settings and Quotation Submittals using dedicated extraction capabilities.
Users can now ask questions related to electrical panels, project configuration, and quotation documents without manually searching through project data.
Value to Users
- Faster access to project configuration information
- Improved answers related to electrical panels
- Better support for quotation and estimation workflows
- Reduces manual document searching
4. Improved PDF Export Reliability
The PDF generation engine has been enhanced to improve formatting consistency and document stability, particularly for larger Fabrication, Installation, and Kitting package exports.
Value to Users
- Improved table rendering
- Better pagination
- More reliable exported reports
- Consistent formatting across PDF exports
User Experience Improvements
5. Responsive Interface Across Different Screen Sizes
AECInspire now adapts more effectively across different screen sizes and resolutions using an improved responsive layout.
Value to Users
- Better readability
- Improved accessibility
- Consistent experience across laptops and larger displays
6. Improved Viewer Alignment
Sheets now automatically remain centered while navigating between sheets using the bottom toolbar, refreshing the browser, opening different modules, or using Fit to Screen. Previously, paging through a sheet set could leave the view zoomed to the upper-left corner of the sheet.
Value to Users
- Cleaner viewing experience
- Less manual repositioning
- Improved navigation
7. Updated Smart Count Labels
The previous Beta labels have been replaced with New, reflecting the maturity of Smart Count features. The tools themselves are unchanged; they have simply passed the Beta stage. Further enhancements remain on the roadmap.
Performance
This release includes a range of under-the-hood performance improvements. These are not visible as interface changes, but tool response times and overall application responsiveness are improved across the platform.
