Prompt Packages (2:45)

Summary

This article explains how to create and use Prompt Packages inside Inspired Query (IQ). Prompt Packages let you bundle multiple prompts together and run them in sequence, saving time and ensuring consistent workflows across projects. The steps follow the training video demonstration.

Before You Start:

  • You must have a project open in AECInspire.

  • Project documents should already be uploaded (plans, specifications, details).

TL;DR — Quick Steps

  1. Open Inspired Query (IQ).

  2. Go to Prompt Packages.

  3. Create a new package and give it a name.

  4. Add multiple prompts into the package.

  5. Save the package.

  6. Run the package to execute prompts in sequence.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1 — Open IQ

Where to look: Project menu → Inspired Query (IQ)
What to do: Click IQ to open the tool.
Why this matters: Prompt Packages are created and managed within IQ.

Step 2 — Open Prompt Packages

Where to look: IQ toolbar → Prompt Packages
What to do: Click Prompt Packages to view existing packages or create a new one.
Why this matters: Packages centralize multiple prompts in one place.

Step 3 — Create a New Package

Where to look: Prompt Packages panel → + New Package
What to do: Click + New Package and enter a descriptive name, such as “Feeder Review Checks” or “Spec Compliance Prompts.”
Why this matters: Naming packages clearly helps your team identify the workflow they cover.

Step 4 — Add Prompts

Where to look: Inside your new package → Add Prompt
What to do: Add prompts one by one. Example prompts from the training include:

  • “List all feeder sizes between the MSB and downstream panels.”

  • “Check specification compliance for grounding.”

  • “Identify any conflicts in fire alarm riser diagrams.”
Why this matters: Grouping related prompts saves time when you need to check multiple items at once.

Step 5 — Save the Package

Where to look: Package editor → Save button
What to do: Click Save to store the package for future use.
Why this matters: Saved packages can be reused across projects and shared with your team.

Step 6 — Run the Package

Where to look: Prompt Packages list → Select package → Run
What to do: Select the package you want and click Run. IQ will execute each prompt in order, showing results for each.
Why this matters: Automates repetitive queries and ensures consistency across teams.

Troubleshooting

  • Package didn’t run? Make sure at least one prompt has been added before saving.

  • Results missing context? Refine individual prompts for clarity before adding them into a package.

• Want to share with others? Use the sharing options to make your package available to teammates.

Outputs

  • Result: A set of responses generated by running multiple prompts in sequence.

  • Where to find it: IQ results panel after running the package.
